I made this last night. It’s called a Festival Cake.

“For what festival?” I hear you ask. Well not any particular festival or event, that’s just its name.

I LOVE this cake and between the ages of 13 - 17 probably ate on average 1 a week…all by myself. Since moving down South in ‘94 I’ve hunted for them but have only ever found them hiding in Northern stores of Morrisons.

Only this week did it occur that I could just make one myself. I did & it’s good. Cakey, creamy and very sweetly GOOD.

No one ever believes me when I say this cake is in great supply in the stores of West Yorkshire. I don’t suppose baking your own equates proof of that, but enjoying a large slice with a tall glass of milk (with ice of course), I don’t care what the doubters think because I’m in cake heaven.
